Description
crocodile succulent Buy Fern Crocodile PlantCrocodile Fern is one of the most texturally extraordinary ferns available. Its wide, elongated, bright green fronds grow up to two feet in length and are covered in a raised, grid like pattern that mimics reptile scales with startling accuracy. The surface is leathery and tactile in a way that most ferns are not, and the bold, graphic veining makes it as visually compelling up close as it is from across a room. It is genuinely unlike any other fern
Crocodile Fern is one of the most texturally extraordinary ferns available. Its wide, elongated, bright green fronds grow up to two feet in length and are covered in a raised, grid-like pattern that mimics reptile scales with startling accuracy. The surface is leathery and tactile in a way that most ferns are not, and the bold, graphic veining makes it as visually compelling up close as it is from across a room. It is genuinely unlike any other fern in a collection.
Good for beginners? It requires more care than the most forgiving ferns. Crocodile Fern prefers consistent moisture and high humidity. It thrives in bathrooms and kitchens where humidity stays naturally higher.
Safe for cats and dogs? Crocodile Fern is considered non-toxic to pets.
Light needs: Medium to bright indirect light suits it best. It tolerates lower light but growth slows. Avoid direct sun which will dry out and scorch the leathery fronds. A north or east-facing window is ideal.
Care at a glance: Keep soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. High humidity is important. Mist regularly or place on a pebble tray. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Remove brown fronds at the base to keep the plant tidy.
