Light needs: Bright indirect light is essential. Variegated leaves have less chlorophyll than solid green leaves and need more light to compensate. Avoid direct sun which can scorch the pale variegated portions. Insufficient light causes very slow growth and reduced variegation contrast.
Care at a glance: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Well-draining soil is important. Feed monthly in spring and summer with a balanced fertilizer. Provide a moss pole to encourage climbing and larger leaves. Note that early leaves may not yet have splits — fenestrations develop as the plant matures.
