The 3-person version of our bestselling Portal tent, the Portal 3 keeps the best parts of the 2-person and bumps the size up to accommodate a third adventure partner. Like its siblings, the Portal 3 maximizes its strength-to-weight ratio by incorporating several features developed for our Expedition Series tents, like our OutRigger attachment, pre-installed internal guylines, and numerous external guy points.

The Portal 3 is more than a scaled-up version of our Portal 2. With beefier poles to compensate for the tent's larger wind profile and a split ceiling pocket at the head for better accessibility by multiple people, we crafted the Portal 3 from the ground up with just as much attention to detail as the original Portal. We tested the Portal 3 on everything from multiday whitewater trips in the American Southwest to the Icelandic highlands to ensure that the Portal 3 will be a steadfast companion no matter where the trail (or river, or road) takes you.

Our 10D Nylon 66 Ripstop silicone-coated flysheet fabric is basically magic, with better UV resistance than fabrics three times its weight (read more about our UV testing here), super low water absorption (aka quick dry times), and incredible mold/mildew resistance. The silicone coating will not break down in your closet and produce that "old tent smell" that haunts well-loved gear. The 20D PE-coated floor fabric strikes a good balance between light weight and durability and doesn't absorb water, unlike PU-coated floor fabrics. It also has far more hydrolytic stability than PU coatings and won't become flaky and smelly with time. Pre-installed spare sliders on all the zippers double your zippers' lifespan and eliminate the need for half-baked field repairs when you're 90% of the way to the terminus of whatever long trail you're on.

Heading to Patagonia? Spending some time in the desert? Pick up our Heavy Duty Portal 3 pole set. This replaces the stock 9.3mm+10.65mm poles with extra sturdy 10.65mm+12.1mm poles to provide additional wind and snow loading resistance.

To prolong the life of your Portal's floor, pick up a Portal 3 footprint. For ultralight weather protection in non-buggy conditions, check out the Portal 3 Tub Floor. Additional stakes and guylines can be purchased here.

The Portal 3 received the Most Bomber Tent award from Adventure Alan & Co! Click here to read their tent roundup.

Features

  • Two doors and two vestibules
  • Two pre-installed internal guylines give the Portal great lateral stability for almost no weight increase. Click here for step-by-step instructions to install a second set of internal guylines. Click here to learn how internal guylines work.
  • Our KickStand vents make ventilation a breeze. Opposing struts on the vestibule doors provide unrestricted cross-tent airflow for excellent condensation management without sacrificing weather protection.
  • High-volume pole structure with a swivel provides well-distributed headroom without the weakness of hubs.
  • Pole swivel connects long poles for easy setup
  • All the pockets you could ever want (three ceiling, two head, two side, one foot).
  • 10 external guy points and 2 perimeter pull-outs provide ample reinforcement.
  • External guy points correspond to flysheet-to-pole attachments to increase stability.
  • Matching reflective tabs on fly and tent body simplify setup.
  • Color-coordinated stake loops for easy flysheet orientation.
  • Pre-installed spare zipper sliders on every zipper double your zippers' lifespan.
  • Can be pitched with footprint (not included) and fly for a minimalist weather shelter.
  • 2-side silicone impregnated flysheet and PE floor fabric are mildew-resistant and have excellent hydrolytic stability, and will last significantly longer than traditional PU-coated fabrics.
  • Includes 14 DAC J-Stakes and 10 additional external guylines (not including 2 pre-installed internal guylines)

Fantastic upgrade from my original stand. Base is a little bulky, but stand is versatile and sturdy.
Size: Single, Style: Free-Standing, Size: Single, Style: Free-Standing
Amazing value for this stand. I needed a stand with more degrees of freedom than the original one that came with my monitor, and this stand (which was inexpensive relative to the cost of the monitor) was a great purchase. The base of the stand is a little bulky/high, and the soft material on the bottom of it can rub off very easily if you let the stand catch the back edge of your desk. Otherwise though, the stand is extremely easy to install, and it provides far more degrees of freedom for rotation and translation than the original stand for my monitor. Now my monitor is sitting at a comfortable viewing angle closer to my desk tilted slightly upwards toward me. Just keep in mind that you have to tighten down the height and tilt adjustments (the things that would be affected by gravity). So, if you want to adjust those frequently, this stand might not be a great fit for you. That said, it does provide a hidden but easy-to-access spot to store the keys needed to loosen it up to make those adjustments. So, if you need to make those adjustments, you'll always have quick access to the necessary tools. Highly recommended for its price in particular.

A Solid Monitor Stand
Size: Single, Style: Free-Standing
This is an extremely sturdy monitor stand. Easily assembled in less than 20 minutes. Instructions were simple. The hex tools came with the stand, but you just need a Nr 2 Phillips Screwdriver for the bolts mounting the VESA plate to the monitor. Take note that this stand has a heavy base to hold larger/heavier monitors up to 22 lbs, but does not take a lot of space. I chose this variant so that it could handle my heavy 24-inch Planar monitor. The included cable management clip was a nice touch. Rotation and tilt feature moves easily and has decent range. I'm very happy with my purchase and it was available for overnight shipment in my region.

WALI Dual Monitor Stand: A Solid, Space-Saving Base Camp
Size: Dual, Style: Free-Standing
WALI Dual Monitor Stand: A Solid, Space-Saving Base Camp I needed to reclaim some real estate on my crowded desk, and this WALI freestanding mount did the trick. It's a straightforward, no-frills solution that holds my two 24-inch monitors securely and opens up a ton of space underneath. Assembly is intuitive, though having a second pair of hands is helpful when you're attaching the monitors to avoid any tipping. The all-metal construction feels sturdy and reliable. The adjustments are basic but effective—you can raise or lower both monitors together on the central pole and tilt or swivel them individually to get the angles just right. The included cable management clips are a nice touch for keeping things tidy. The key thing to understand with any freestanding mount is balance. If you extend the arms all the way out toward you, the whole unit can get top-heavy and want to tip forward. I keep my monitors positioned more centered over the heavy base, and it's perfectly stable. It's not meant for dramatic, extended poses. For the price, it's fantastic value. It doesn't have the infinite, fluid adjustability of high-end gas-spring arms, but it doesn't need to. It lifts your monitors, frees up your desk, and does its job without any fuss. Bottom Line: An excellent, budget-friendly way to lift two monitors and dramatically increase your usable desk space. Just be mindful of the center of gravity and don't expect ultra-flexible, independent positioning.

Easily supports a pair of 26" displays
Size: Dual, Style: Free-Standing
I have no complaints with this stand. It is not as nice as the Inland brand sold at MicroCenter, but it does its job. It beats the price of the MicroCenter one, thats for sure. It comes with all the hardware you might need, even long screws and bushings if you have a display that needs them. Assembly was quick. It comes mostly assembled anyway. You have to put the bottom on the post then attach the assembled arms to the post. Setting up can be a challenge but with help, its easy. After mounting the bracket on the back of the displays, you just slide them into the receiver on the arms. Once mounted, adjusting the position is simple, but can take a while as there are several joints which can be positioned to angle the displays as you like. The cord clips do an OK job of cord management, but the clips are not as good as the Inland ones. They do the job, but not as durable. I broke the one that goes on the post, but I tried getting it to hold a wad of wire. My fault. I recommend this stand.
