1978 was a big year for reverb. The dawn of sprawl, massive trails, and infinite decay. The CXM 1978 reaches back to that moment, allowing you to explore the charm of those late 70s imperfections. Using the Automatone's robust industrial housing and Meris's pro-audio level sound design, the CXM 1978 offers a modern take on its inspiration.
Features include moving faders with presets and MIDI control, 32 Bit AD/DA, three classic algorithms, adjustable decay crossover for fully shapeable reverb tail, expression pedal control, optional fully balanced I/O, stereo input and output, and internally boosted +/-15V rails for line level input.

Looks great, but has issues

Great design, looks fantastic. Doesn't look too large, and the strap can be easily swapped for a nato strap if that's your preference. The negative display is quite readable and the indiglo works beautifully.
Unfortunately, like many others, mine was prone to the reset bug. Using the chrono or timer modes would send the watch into a sort of boot loop for several minutes, after which it would be factory reset to 12:00 AM. This bug only seemed to affect the digital display and not the analog hands. If you never used these modes then you'd never have an issue, but these are necessary functions for me so that made the watch a no-go, sadly.

Disappointing in many ways

Bought this model twice. Digital display failed on both, the first within the return window, the second just after. Timex customer "service" said to ship it back for a repair estimate, pay for the repair, and then it would take up to three months once payment was made. I said thanks, but I'll leave a bad review and get a Casio sooner.
